Mary Poppins Returns is a 2018 musical fantasy film by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a sequel to the 1964 classic Mary Poppins, both based on the book series by P.L. Travers. The story follows the now-grown Michael and Jane Banks, who are visited by their former nanny Mary Poppins during a difficult time in their lives. With the help of her friend Jack, Mary uses her magical abilities to bring joy and wonder back into the Banks family's life.
The film features an all-star cast including Emily Blunt as the titular character, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, Ben Whishaw as Michael Banks, and Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks. The music is composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman.
